An unarmed security officer or courier is an individual engaged to safeguard persons or property through monitoring and reporting activities. Their responsibilities include observing conditions on the premises, identifying potential risks or irregularities, and communicating relevant information to appropriate authorities or designated representatives.
Crucially, such individuals do not carry or have access to a firearm while performing their duties.
In essence, the role is limited to surveillance, detection, and reporting, rather than direct enforcement or armed intervention.
